Mike has worked for many years in business, teaching and working with people and bought this knowledge with him when Mike and Lena bought the White Horse.
He grew up in Southbourne and has been local ever since.
Lena, who is Russian, worked in Russia catering for a food company as a manager and again bought this expertise with her. Lena lived in southern Russia in Volgograd which is about 600 north of Azerbaijan where there is an influence of Italian cuisine.

Mike and Lena were married in St Johns church in Westbourne and had their reception in The White Horse nearly 2 years before they took over.
Between them they have 6 children and a grandson.
Over the time Mike and Lena have known each other they had wanted to have an Inn and develop a centre of the community involving local businesses and people.
Mike and Lena lived in Westbourne before they bought the pub in December 2007 and saw an opportunity to realise a need in the village. This was to create a place where families, walkers and people from all walks of like are able to meet, share in community life and have a great time.
If you want to relax with or without the family, enjoy great food from many parts of the world including Russian, Thai, Indian and a range of excellent British dishes, have a drink from a great variety of excellent real ales and lagers or want to choose a glass of wine from our specially chosen red, white and rose’s from many countries,
